almost3monitors

Slow shipping really makes me mad. I was nice enough to the delivery lady, but she thought she was going to drop it on the porch. Oh, nononononono. Not with it being 3 days late. Unfortunately, I think, because of the type of splitter I have, my computer is only seeing 2 monitors, and it's mirroring the 2 Phillips monitors. BTW, these are not 22", like they are advertised. They are 21". You can see the size difference in the image. The monitor that is lit next to the wall is a real 22". I'm not very pleased about that. I am pleased that they both came with HDMI cables. I was not expecting that. the HDMI cables are not listed as being included. they also come with power cords. You will need them. I went to plug one in with my old cord, and these are nonstandard power cables. So, I ordered the other adapter. It's a DSP to HDMI, which means that I can connect all 3 monitors to the HDMI splitter I just got. That could also be the problem, but it's also possible that this computer just can't do 3 monitors. It'd be odd, since it was refurbed in 2020, but stranger things have happened. So, I should have the new adapter Sunday. We'll see.

So much for these monitors being here at any semblance of on-time.

They should have been here at some point Wednesday.

They should have been here Thursday at 11AM.

They should have been here today at 11:15 AM

It is now Thursday at 11:30AM.

It's like pulling teeth. they just can't get these monitors to me. If you can think of something worse than teeth, feel free to sub the thing. It's really worse than that.

Delivery Tomorrow for Anyone Who Orders Those Monitors Today, But I've Been Waiting All Week!

Where are my monitors

It just goes from bad to worse. I need those monitors in the next 5 to 6 hours, but they're not even in a box! I ordered these monitors Tuesday morning before 9 AM. That means that I placed that order before 6 AM Amazon time. Not kidding. And they couldn't get them in a box on Tuesday. They couldn't get them in a box on Wednesday. They couldn't get them in a box last night. They can't get them in someone's car to zip them over here today. They just can't seem to get these monitors to me, but they're more than willing to sell someone else these monitors today and send them to that person TOMORROW. You have got to be kidding me.  I have a meeting at 4PM. I have to get these monitors hooked up and working this morning. Where the fuck are my monitors? Oh and look. When I go fucking back to grand the screenshot, they're now saying next Tuesday. Are you kidding me? You'll have to take my word for it. Ten minutes before I started writing this, you could get those monitors tomorrow, but not me.

This happens every single goddamned time I order any hard good from Amazon. They just can't get it to me, and nothing does any good to get it to me ON TIME! I remember, and so do you, when everything on Amazon was 2 day shipping. Now, it's just as slow as it was 20 years ago. I mean, you might as well mail me a fucking catalog and let me fill out the page in the back then mail it back to the company with a check so that they can mail me the products. It'd probably be faster! By the way, that is actually before my time. That's my mother's time.

In True Amazon Fashion - Amazon Has Shipped the Splitter Without the Monitors!

I guess I might as well update this mega-fight to get two monitors and a splitter because I had a monitor die on me last week. In true Amazon fashion, they have shipped the splitter without the monitors, and it will be here today. The monitors, however, have not even been put in a box. Right. This is incredibly frustrating and happens every time I order from Amazon. The splitter is 100% useless without the monitors. I'd contact customer service, but that's a nightmare and rarely results in anything positive. Sometimes, they even lie so that you'll go away. I had that problem with a weedeater I bought. They would NOT put that thing in a box or slap a label on it. Three days after I ordered it, I contacted them. I really couldn't wait any longer. I ordered the weedeater on a Monday and it was Wednesday, and I needed the equipment FRIDAY! I had also ordered some extra string. The string got to me on Friday after I talked to them. I was also supposed to get a $20 credit, if I contacted them again after the weedeater arrived because the shipping was that slow. Needless to say, I got busy and contacted them again about 2 or 3 weeks later. There was no credit. I, instead, got a $10 credit because the first agent lied.

You would think they would learn that shipping speeds are part of the customer experience, and slow shipping can mean a negative experience regardless of the quality of the thing. Slow shipping makes Amazon look bad, and it makes the company look bad. 99 percent of my reviews should really be - Product is great, but good luck getting it on time. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't like you talking about the shipping speeds in the reviews, so you just don't know if everyone got their stuff on time. That would probably influence 75 percent of all purchases if people were like - Yeah, I ordered this on the 1st and got it on the 7th. they didn't slap it in a box until the 6th. that's not okay. And when 11 AM rolls around today, those monitors are going to be late. When they're not here by tomorrow at 11 AM, they're going to REALLY be late because that's the time I really really really need them. I need time to set them up and test them and organize them before I attend an online meeting. But Amazon just can't seem to get anything in a box on time.

I Almost Made a Terrible Mistake When Ordering My New Monitors and HDMI Monitor Splitter

As some of you may know, one of my monitors blew up last Tuesday night (July 23, 2024). Since then, I’ve done about everything I can do to get a second monitor on this machine. It’s all failed. Let’s take a look at what I tried, why it failed, what I ended up doing, and why that almost failed.

What Happened to the Monitor?

I run two monitors, and I’ve run two monitors for 10 years. In 2020, I upgraded the whole system. I got a new workstation, versus a standard computer. It was refurbished, so perfectly affordable. And I bought 2 22” refurbished monitors. Prior to this, I was using 2 19” monitors. Now, one of these monitors has been jinky since the beginning. However, I have to keep working. I didn’t have time to send it back. Three and a half years later, that monitor was awfully red when I first started it in the morning. This went on for a couple weeks, so, I know it’s dying. But I’m going to get every bit of life out of that monitor.
